InSpace, a digital art gallery and immersive experience and event space developed by the Mexican interactive studio INTUS, presents Akari, a new and innovative immersive digital art exhibition that reinterprets Japanese aesthetics through light, artificial intelligence, and sensory experimentation. This exhibition has already opened its rooms at InSpace, located in the Narvarte neighborhood of Mexico City.

Akari (明かり), which means "light" in Japanese, is an invitation to explore the convergence of tradition and cutting-edge design in a multisensory journey created by twenty Japanese, Mexican, and international artists. Through immersive installations with large-format projections, generative graphics, and artificial intelligence algorithms, the exhibition transforms the space into a luminous landscape where Japanese culture is reinterpreted with a contemporary perspective. Curated by digital artist and immersive experience designer Josué Ibáñez.

“Akari immerses the viewer in a series of digital artworks that challenge perception and stimulate the senses. The exhibition aims to create a bridge between Mexico and Japan, exploring how light and technology connect us through tradition and innovation.” Josué Ibañez, Curator of Akari.

From sensory portals to ephemeral landscapes of light and reflections, each space in the exhibition reinterprets minimalist harmony, the fragility of nature, and the poetics of movement, essential elements of Japanese art. This exhibition is a production by INTUS, a pioneering Mexican team in immersive experience creation, led by Gilberto Castro.

“AKARI is our love letter to Japanese digital art, a tribute to the artists who have turned light and technology into visual poetry. Their creativity has deeply inspired us, and this exhibition is our way of celebrating their legacy and sharing their magic with the world.” Gil Castro, Director of InSpace.

The exhibition is open from Friday to Sunday.
